Course outline
The ‘Coaching Assistant’ course is purposefully designed to support those new into coaching. It provides a clear framework and applied learning experiences for individuals to confidently start supporting and delivering coaching sessions within both the school and sports club environments.
We are passionate about using the creative industry of coaching to provide growth experiences for those new into coaching and provide a safe space to explore and develop an understanding of themselves with a clear focus on their talents, strengths, beliefs, and values.
With a focus on basic coaching theory, core coaching skills, the importance of communication, and opportunities to design, deliver and reflect on performance, we are offering coaches a dynamic learning experience, rooted on collaborative practice and opportunities for leadership, to create the appropriate environments to connect, engage and develop young people.
Course aim
Develop individuals understanding of coaching and transform their approach to delivering engaging game-based sessions
Learning outcomes
Understand the roles and responsibilities of a coach in building a positive and safe learning environment
Developing a coaching philosophy and an awareness of coaching styles
Develop an understanding and application of ‘how to coach’ skills
Plan and deliver a game-based learning session
Demonstrate the benefits of co-coaching

Age requirement of 16 years of age
